Terms of Reference

for

Asia-Pacific Networking Group(Tentative Name)

(APNG)

(1) Purpose

The purpose of the APNG is to be a coordinating and promoting body on common

aspects of networking for the Asia-Pacific community.

(2) Role

The APNG will

- review Asia-Pacific policy, strategy, and operational issues related to

international networking.

- develop consensus guidelines that members can use in establishing

interoperable international networking infrastructure and services.

- provide an Asia-Pacific delegation to international organizations with

input and feedback from the Asia-Pacific networking community.

- carry other relevant activities.

(3) Membership

Membership of the APNG is open to any individuals, organizations, national

bodies, or international bodies.

(4) Organization

The APNG is composed of the APNG Secretariat and a collection of working

groups. The membership of the APNG Secretariat shall be composed of the chairs

of the working groups and headed by elected individuals who serve as the chairs

of the APNG Secretariat.

(5) Working group

Working groups are composed of individuals or organizations who share a common

interest in some aspect of networking in Asia-Pacific region.
