ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PNC THIRD MEETING

The Pacific Neighborhood Consortium (PNC) will hold

the third annual meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, January 18-20,

1995, at the Sheraton Royal Orchid Hotel.

This meeting will be centered around three tutorial

sessions on direct implementation of information sharing among PNC

member institutions and countries in the Pacific Rim. The tutorials

are:

1. Developing and Coordinating a regional WWW server network.

2. Developing a Distributed Electronic Museum of the

Pacific Rim.

3. Developing a Coordinated Library System for the

Pacific Rim

The registration information and a preliminary agenda will be

Registration Information

Third Annual Meeting

The Pacific Neighborhood Consortium meeting will be held on

January 18-20, 1995 in Bangkok, Thailand, at the Royal Orchid

Sheraton Hotel and Towers, 2 Captain Bush Lane, Bangkok 10500,

Thailand. The following page provides the hotel registration

information. Institutions who are currently members of the consortium

may send two representatives with no registration fee. Additional

representatives of a member institution must pay a registration fee of

US $225 per person. Persons who wish to attend the meeting, but who

are not representatives of a member institution must pay a registration

fee of US $435.00 per person. Checks should be made payable to the

Regents of the University of California, marked "PNC registration",

and mailed to the Office of the Director, Pacific Neighborhood

Consortium, Room 4511 Tolman Hall, University of California,

Berkeley, California 94720 USA. Payment should be in US currency.

Preferably, registration fees should be sent at the same time hotel

reservations are made, although registration may be done at the

meeting. Hotel reservations should be made directly with the Royal

Orchid Sheraton (Please note--the low room rate was made possible

through a direct arrangement with the hotel that does not allow

commissioning. Practically, this means that you must book your hotel

room directly and not through a travel agent).

At the time you send your registration fee (or if already a

member, your hotel registration) please notify Associate Director Hui-

lan Huang if you have any special requirements for the meeting, such

as dietary restrictions. Ms. Huang can be sent e-mail at
